Built in 2008 as a luxury Holiday retreat, Ard Carden Lodge is a timber built Scandinavian style Lodge in a modest sized natural garden. The Lodge is situated in scenic Glen Urquhart some five miles west of the village of Drumnadrochit where the local Supermarket, Post Office, Doctor’s Surgery, Chemist and numerous Restaurants can be found. Travelling west from Ard Carden Lodge you arrive at the small village of Cannich. From here you have access to stunning Glen Affric and Glen Cannich.
Since buying the house some ten years ago several improvements have been made the most noticeable being a 5 metre by 5 metre Log Cabin with Wood burning Stove and Electric heating serving as a Home Office / Games Room.
The ground floor has an open Hall with staircase leading to the first floor. From the Hall there is a small Boiler Room with Oil fired Boiler and clothes airing facilities. There is also a downstairs Bathroom with Jacuzzi Bath, Heated Towel Rail and Tiled Heated floor. The Kitchen, Dining Room and Lounge are all open plan. In the Lounge there is a Wood burning Stove to supplement the Radiators and Underfloor Heating. From the Lounge there is a door to the Veranda where you can take in the spectacular views. The entire building benefits from Double Glazing.
On the first floor there are two bedrooms both of which can accommodate either Double or Twin Beds. In the present layout one bedroom has a double bed the other is set out as a cosy “Snug” with a comfortable Double Sofa Bed. The separate Log Cabin can potentially sleep a further two persons as it too has a Double Sofa Bed. Also, on the first floor there is a Shower Room with Toilet, Heated Towel Rail and Tiled Heated floor.
